The Association for the Advancement of Wound Care (AAWC) is a multidisciplinary, non-profit association, headquartered in the United States. AAWC’s members practice in healthcare settings not only across the United States, but also in many countries of the world. AAWC was conceived in 1995 to accomplish and promote excellence in education, clinical practice, public policy and research.
The mission of AAWC is to build a collaborative community to facilitate optimal care for the millions of people who suffer with wounds. To fulfill this mission, AAWC encourages equal partnership among all individuals who are involved in the care of wounds and provides members with discounted educational conferences and two free journals; as well as leadership, networking, mentoring, and scholarship opportunities. AAWC has categories of membership for the healthcare professional, industry representative, facilities, students, retirees, patients, and lay-caregivers.
