The American Radiological Nurses Association (ARNA) was founded in 1981 as the professional organization representing nurses who practice in diagnostic and therapeutic imaging environments. There are 26 local chapters. ARNA fosters the growth of radiology nurses who advance the standard of care in imaging settings. ARNA’s core values include: commitment to professionalism, response to technological advances, and leadership in a constantly changing environment. ARNA collaborates with other professional societies to advance health care delivery.

P.A.D.-Related Activities and Resources:

  • Many members of ARNA have participated in the Society of Interventional Radiology Legs for Life peripheral arterial disease screening programs and other screening programs.
  • Articles related to P.A.D. diagnosis, education and treatment have been included in The Journal of Radiology Nursing, a peer reviewed journal published quarterly by Elsevier.
  • ARNA’s quarterly newsletter entitled Vision has featured information on P.A.D. awareness.
  • ARNA’s annual education meetings help members learn about the latest diagnostic tests and treatments.
