Preventive Cardiovascular Nurses Association Members Stay in Circulation at 14th Annual Symposium

The Preventive Cardiovascular Nurses Association has long been an active member of the P.A.D. Coalition and their April 2008 Annual Symposium in Orlando, FL highlighted P.A.D. in multiple ways.

Meeting attendees donned Stay in Circulation t-shirts and pedometers and participated in a special session on exercise therapy led by Ralph La Forge, MSC of Duke University Medical Center. After the presentation, attendees joined together in an hour-long walk around the meeting facilities.

A Stay in Circulation booth distributed P.A.D. clinical practice tools including reference summaries of the “2006 Guidelines for the Management of P.A.D.” and patient resources.

Special poster presentations focused on P.A.D. Congratulations to Kelly A. Galler, MSN, GNP whose poster -- “Tapping into the Under-diagnosed Condition of P.A.D. Through Comprehensive Vascular Assessments -- was awarded First Place in the Clinical Patient Management category.
