Dear President Obama and Members of Congress:

Nearly 1 in 5 senior citizens has Peripheral Arterial Disease (P.A.D.) or clogged arteries of the legs. People with P.A.D. are at higher risk for heart attack, stroke, amputation and early death, and many aren't diagnosed until it's too late. Unfortunately, Medicare doesn't cover a simple test that detects P.A.D. in those at highest risk. I strongly urge you to expand coverage for P.A.D. testing as recommended by more than 50 leading medical groups.
