September is P.A.D. Awareness Month and an ideal time to conduct P.A.D. awareness activities, such as screening events. The P.A.D. Coalition and the Society for Vascular Nursing have developed materials to help hospitals and other entities conduct P.A.D. screening events. Several Coalition partners conduct screenings for P.A.D. during September, P.A.D. Awareness Month, and throughout the year. Many of these screenings are free, but space is limited. For a screening, most sites perform the ankle-brachial index (ABI), a simple test that compares the blood pressure in your ankles with the blood pressure in your arms. Find a screening site...
